The National Weather Service has a coastal flood warning for the St. Johns River basin, including western St. Johns County, until 6 a.m. Sunday, then a coastal flood advisory until 5 p.m.

Western St. Johns County is under a coastal flood warning until 6 a.m. Sunday, according to a National Weather Service Jacksonville bulletin issued at 11:01 a.m. Saturday. A coastal flood advisory then takes over from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The warning covers the St. Johns River basin, a zone that also includes eastern Clay, eastern Putnam and south central Duval counties.

The Weather Service says numerous roads may be closed, and that low-lying property, including homes, businesses and some critical infrastructure, will be inundated. It also expects some shoreline erosion. Those are forecast impacts; the bulletin does not list specific closed roads.
The agency urges residents to take the necessary steps to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, it says not to drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Check the official bulletin for updates before heading near the river.
